Debussy died on March 25, 1918 in Paris, France. He wrote most of his music for the piano and wrote the opera Pelleas et Melisande - no one has been able to create an opera quite like it before or since! He was a truly unique composer.
An important thing to remember about Debussy: He bridged two musical eras - the romantic and the modern eras. Deubssy created the modern era of music when he released the piece "L'apres-midi d'un faune".
We're going to listen to one more piece by him called "poissons d'or" but if you're interested in the "L'apres-midi d'un faune" I've attached it here too. It's quite long (11 or so minutes) and good music to relax to.
The piece is "poissons d'or" performed by Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli.
